Success Strategy:
Overview:
Cessna Aviation needed a solution to have their mechanics and pilots seamlessly communicate about maintenance issues involving corporate and private jets. As pilots are often working for extended periods of time, it was important to provide them a solution that enabled all users to post messages and collaborate at their discretion. TOLS recommended a message board system not only to resolve the communications issue, but also to serve as a reference tool for future maintenance issues.
Target Market:
This site was designed to offer a communication tool to pilots and mechanics specializing in Citation jet maintenance. The target market was internal and as such required no marketing.
Plan of Attack:
TOLS interviewed several mechanics and pilots asking them for feedback as how to structure the design and functionality of the site. As this was to function more like an intranet, certain functionality was recommended by TOLS, but the categorization of the site was largely determined by the client.
The design of the site emulates a cockpit feel. A clean and functional design strategy was employed allowing easy navigation and fast updates. Mechanics using this system are often in the hangar answering questions or sharing ideas with other mechanics throughout the world. Pilots jump on the site to provide feedback after test flights.
As this site functions more like an intranet, SEO was not of a concern. Cessna was so happy with the design of their site, that they asked us to design a marketing brochure showcasing their Orlando service center. View the Cessna Brochure.
