Being a progressive and green multimedia production company, The Outer Limit Studios constantly strives to help make our planet a better place; through powering our hosting services through 100% renewable energy.  The datacenter that houses all of our servers is run from renewable energy.
Due to the infrastructure and geographical distribution of the datacenter, the center couldn't install solar panels or construct wind turbines outside. However, through an audit of our servers, the datacenter calculated the electricity usage of the servers and then purchased the necessary wind and solar green energy tags.
All purchased tags have been certified by Green-e, the nation's leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy.

Our servers in the datacenter are still powered by the regular electricity providers - but for every X kilowatts worth of green energy tags purchased,  X kilowatts less electricity is fed into the grid via non-renewable means. The solar/wind generated electricity purchased simply goes into the grid, in this case, the grid of Portland, Oregon.
Still, the result is the same - carbon neutral web hosting.
